Anuga 2025 Carves Out a Home for Future Foods - 'Anuga Alternatives'

The world’s biggest food fair just got a plant-and-cell facelift. Anuga’s 2025 edition in Cologne is giving prime floor space to a new 'Anuga Alternatives' hall and it’s not short of headliners. Beyond Meat and Oatly are on the list, but so too are tofu makers like Omami, algae caviar producers like Jens Møller, mycelium innovators like Pacifico Biolabs, sunflower protein players, and egg-free specialists Neggst.

That mix tells a story; future foods are no longer a vegan sideshow. From mainstream patties to niche novelties, Anuga is showing buyers this is a category with range, depth, and serious export potential. The move puts alternative proteins in the same breath as fine food, dairy, and meat. In otherwords, a seat at the grown-ups’ table.

For founders, this means being seen alongside the giants. For consumers, even indirectly, it’s a signal the next wave of food isn’t fringe anymore, it’s getting centre stage.
