Australia’s supermarket aisles just got a little more European chic. Woolworths has cut a deal with Waterdrop, the Austrian hydration brand that turns plain H₂O into a functional wellness statement with a dissolving cube. From this week, more than 900 stores nationwide will stock five of its vitamin and electrolyte SKUs - berry, cola, peach, grapefruit, and passionfruit.


It’s a shift underlining the country’s new fixation with electrolyte waters and sugar-free refreshment. Forget lugging energy drinks from the chemist or reaching for another flavoured soda, this is hydration re-framed as daily ritual, boosted by a sports-cred investor list including Novak Djokovic and a major presence at the Australian Open.


For Waterdrop, the move from online-only to Woolworths shelves is a consumer milestone. Aussie shoppers demanded it, and Woolies delivered. It’s also a sign functional hydration is no longer niche; it’s becoming the next mainstream grocery category alongside kombucha and cold brew.
