Asia’s Dessert Collabs Go Functional From Beanless Coffee to Algae Gelato

Asian dessert collabs visual media

Asia is fast becoming the launchpad for crossover dessert collabs where food-tech and wellness meet indulgence. Think Euglena’s algae nutrients churned into vegan scoops with Kind Kones in Singapore and Malaysia, or Ajinomoto’s ice cream carrying Finnish Solein protein, functional nutrition in a spoonful. Even bean-free coffee start-up Prefer has teamed with Melvados to sell coconut-latte vegan ice cream across 13 stores, while TurtleTree’s vegan lactoferrin is hitting the RTD coffee space with Singapore’s MAD Foods.

These aren’t just novelties, they’re brand exposure engines. Cafés, ice cream shops and RTD aisles are the new testbeds for ingredients once hidden in capsules or biotech labs. With Asia’s regulatory agility and consumer appetite for innovation, expect more “function meets flavour” collabs to slip into everyday treats, shifting plant-based and biotech brands from niche to mainstream.
