With a stated commitment to sustainability and innovation, both companies will focus on exploring dairy applications across cheese, cream, butter, and other categories, integrating Nourish Ingredients' Creamilux ingredient to replicate the authentic taste and functionality of traditional dairy products.

This collaboration not only targets enhancements in traditional dairy products but also aims to explore adjacent product segments, including non-dairy categories such as bakery goods traditionally depending on dairy fats. By utilising innovative ingredients like Creamilux, which offers a creamy taste and mouthfeel, the partnership wants to unlock new possibilities in both core and non-core dairy applications.

James Petrie, CEO of Nourish Ingredients, says this arrangement is strategically significant. "This collaboration marries our passion for creating innovative, sustainable ingredients with Fonterra's extensive dairy expertise and global reach," says James Petrie. "Together, we are positioned to optimise current food production capacities to meet global demands without compromising on quality."

From Fonterra's perspective, the partnership is a leap forward in dairy innovation science. "Nourish Ingredients' approach aligns perfectly with our commitment to leading in dairy science and innovation," says Jeremy Hill, Chief Science and Technology Officer at Fonterra. "Our collaboration will allow us to explore exciting new ways to satisfy the growing global appetite for high-quality, sustainable dairy products."

This announcement follows a successful initial tasting of Nourish Ingredients' Creamilu by the Fonterra team, sparking a fast-tracked collaboration based on shared values and mutual trust. As this partnership unfolds, it promises to usher in a new era of innovation in the dairy industry both sides of the Tasman Sea.
