Another plant-based breakthrough just landed on British shelves and it’s not just another meatless Monday stunt. Juicy Marbles, the cult brand behind the world’s first marbled plant-based steak, has secured major national placement for its new Meaty Meat: Pork-ish cut across 534 Tesco stores.

At £6.00 a pack, the launch signals more than just a new product drop. It marks growing consumer confidence in plant-based whole cuts and retailers' increasing willingness to back brands actually delivering on taste, texture, and everyday practicality.

Tesco’s vote of confidence wasn’t given lightly. The retailer rarely ranges new plant-based lines unless there’s already significant traction, and Juicy Marbles has proven itself with runaway successes: from selling out 86% of initial stock at Waitrose in just four days, to becoming Tesco’s fastest-selling plant-based meat last year with its other products. Pork-ish builds on that momentum, offering a lower-priced, versatile protein designed for real-world kitchens.

“We continue to see growing interest from shoppers looking to reduce meat in their diets without missing out on taste or quality,” says Cristina Valeanu, Buyer at Tesco. “Juicy Marbles' innovative products, like the new 'Pork-ish' cut, stand out in the plant-based category for their satisfying textures, exceptional nutritional profiles, and ease of use in traditional cooking. We're thrilled to introduce 'Pork-ish' as a versatile new option for our customers.”

Unlike traditional meat replicas aiming to impersonate burgers or sausages, Pork-ish is built differently. It's a flexible 180g mini-loin shredable, chunked, or roasted whole. It's Juicy Marbles' answer to a gap tofu alone hasn’t filled - the need for a high-protein, texture-rich, culinary building block feeling as satisfying as meat but plays well with a range of dishes.

The new "Marble 3.0" clean label recipe behind Pork-ish ups the ante, too, delivering 21g of complete protein per 100g, free from stabilisers like methylcellulose, with bonus nutrients like B12, zinc, and iron, all without sacrificing taste.

“A lot of plant-based alternatives are too light on essential nutrients or too heavy on saturated fats," says Maj Hrovat, Juicy Marbles' Co-Founder and R&D Chief. "If we want plant-based meats to be a true alternative, they have to match or exceed the nutritional convenience of meat. Marble 3.0 is our cleanest, most nutritious recipe yet, and it sets a new standard for what everyday plant-based eating can look like."

From a consumer perspective, Pork-ish offers something vital - reassurance. Clean label credentials. More nutritional density. A lower price. And crucially, the stamp of approval from Britain’s biggest supermarket chain, a sign plant-based innovation isn’t just riding hype anymore. It’s bedding in, reshaping the centre of the plate, and proving its staying power.

Meaty Meat - Pork-ish is available now nationwide UK at Tesco and online.
