Lidl’s Live Well Logo Anchors the Planetary Health Diet

PLANETARY Health Diet Visual

Lidl GB has just moved the supermarket game up a notch. The UK discounter is rolling out a bold new Live Well logo across its private-label shelves, linking everyday groceries to the lofty goals of the Planetary Health Diet by 2050. Think beans, grains, fibre, plant protein and yes, fully recyclable packaging too.

This isn’t just a logo slap. It’s evidence-based, validated by the British Nutrition Foundation, aligned with WWF benchmarks, and comes with hard rules: no excess fat, sugar, or salt, plus a sustainability check on everything from rice to dairy-free cheese.

For UK consumers tired of decoding traffic-light labels and greenwashing claims, Lidl is offering a ready-made filter for “good for you, good for the planet.” The bean-shaped logo couldn’t be more apt—beans as the new cultural hero food.
