AKUA, the US company known for its dried kelp jerky, has recently launched the world's first Kelp Burger, offering an innovative and sustainable addition to the plant-based food market.
The Kelp Burger is crafted from a blend of ocean-farmed kelp, mushrooms, superfoods, black beans, and quinoa, delivering a distinctive umami flavour with hints of fresh tomatoes and mushrooms.
Unlike typical plant-based options, the burger does not have a fishy taste, and its texture is uniform without any additional ingredients such as corn kernels or bean skins.
Beyond its taste, the Kelp Burger provides several nutritional benefits. Kelp is low in calories and rich in essential vitamins and minerals, including Vitamins A and K, as well as minerals like Iodine, Iron, Folate, Calcium, Magnesium, and Zinc.
