About the Recipe
Delicious Hemp Burger Jammed-Packed With Plant-Based Proteins
1 cup cooked quinoa
1 cup cooked black beans, mashed
1/2 cup hemp seeds
1/4 cup bread crumbs (you can use gluten-free bread crumbs if needed)
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce or tamari (gluten-free soy sauce)
1 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon paprika
Salt and pepper to taste
Burger buns and toppings of your choice (lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, etc.)
In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked quinoa, mashed black beans, hemp seeds, bread crumbs, onion, garlic, soy sauce (or tamari), cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Let the mixture rest for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and the mixture to firm up.
Preheat a grill or a skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, you may need to lightly oil it to prevent sticking.
Shape the mixture into patties of your desired size, using about 1/3 to 1/2 cup of the mixture for each patty. You should be able to make approximately 4-6 patties, depending on the size.
Cook the hemp burgers on the preheated grill or skillet for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they are browned and heated through.
Toast the burger buns if desired. Place the cooked hemp burger on the bun and add your favorite toppings such as lettuce, tomato, onion, avocado, or any other condiments you prefer.
Serve the hemp burgers warm and enjoy!
Feel free to adjust the seasonings and ingredients according to your taste preferences. You can also experiment with adding other herbs, spices, or vegetables to customize the flavour of these hemp burgers.
